                    Mary Grace was born on June 29, 1964. She grew up in Massillon, Ohio. She was the second oldest of Dick and Nancy Fritz’s ten children. She attended St. Joan of Arc grade school and Perry High School. She eventually graduated from Owens Technical School with a degree in ophthalmic technology. She married Mike on April 25, 1992. The couple have three children, Allison 13, Timmy 11 and William 5. They have resided in Medina Ohio since the summer of 1995.
     Mary was extremely active in the community. She was involved at St. Francis Xavier School as room mom as well as in other capacities. She was a “stay at home” mom who was active in her children’s lives. She was active in Pre-school PTA and participated in various fundraising activities.
     Mary Grace was diagnosed with cancer on Valentine’s Day 2003. She had done a breast self-exam and found a lump. When doctors performed a biopsy, both the number of lumps found and sizes were concerns. She had a radical mastectomy, 8 rounds of chemotherapy and 6 weeks of radiation. For a brief period, things were on the right track. A party was held to celebrate Mary’s completion of treatments, and to thank all of the people that helped out while she was sick. Life was good and getting better.
     In February of 2004, Mary found another lump. A biopsy was done, which confirmed her worst nightmare, the cancer was back. Although she endured another surgery, multiple forms of chemotherapy and a trip to MD Anderson in Houston, TX, it was not meant to be. She lost her battle with breast cancer on January 8, 2005. The Mary Grace Memorial Foundation was started to continue the generosity that Mary was so passionate about.
